HEAD OF HUMAN RESOURCES

We are seeking an experienced and strategic human resources professional with a reputation for delivering strategic results to join one of the subsidiaries within the FHL Group as Head of Human Resources. The role is responsible for leading HR functions and delivering strategies that will ensure that the subsidiary continues to be a socially responsible employer and sustainable building materials manufacturer. The role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer of the subsidiary with indirect reporting to the People & Leadership Subcommittee and the FHL Group Head of Human Resources.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Lead and facilitate the development and execution of HR strategies aligned with approved business objectives and growth plans.
  • Lead and develop the Human Resources Team in the assigned subsidiary to manage and motivate an engaged and results-driven workforce. 
  • Continuously lead change management initiatives to support organizational efficiency and the business’s evolving strategic needs.
  • Lead and facilitate the overall management of performance, development, and retention processes in the Company with key outcomes of accountable leaders, results driven employees, identified areas for change and a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee and review employment-related costs and budgetary plans.
  • Manages the development and proper implementation of Reward and Compensation plans. 
  • Oversees the management of industrial relations related matters promptly and fairly.  
  • Responsible for the accurate and value-adding reporting to the Leadership team, Board and relevant subcommittees on matters relating to Human Resources Strategies. 
  • Direct and manage the review, development and implementation of Human Capital information systems to improve employee productivity levels, planning, delivery, performance and capability.  
  • Ensure good governance and compliance to both regulations and Company policy. 
  • Actively contribute to the Fijian Holdings Limited Group Human Resources Management reviews and ensure effective and efficient implementation of FHL Group Human Resources Strategies and mandates.  

To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:

  • More than 5 years’ management experience in HR, with at least 2 years in a Senior Leadership role.
  • Demonstrated successful Human Resources strategic and operational results with strong change management and leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent leadership and commercial acumen to deliver positive commercial results.
  • History of success in driving innovative changes with a reputation of integrity, mindset of growth and cultivating talent.
  • Ability to travel and work from various branches of the subsidiary in Fiji.
  • Targeted incumbent must have strong knowledge of labor laws, regulations, Union and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, drive for results, growth mindset with an uncompromising integrity.
  • Skilled in planning, reviewing, forecasting, and reforecasting total employment costs with sound assumptions that support current and future business models.
  • Possess influential and negotiation skills to manage difficult situations and guide dialogue to win-win scenarios.
  • Relevant qualifications in human resources, people management and/or training would be advantageous.
