We are seeking motivated Accountants to join the FHL and are looking for a proactive, committed, engaging and efficient Accountant that will be responsible for all accounting functions of FHL including regular review and improvement of business performance. The successful candidate will report directly to the Group Chief Finance Officer.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- As part of FHL Group Strategy, actively review and drive results in supporting Group to develop commercial acumen and financial capability.
- Provide reports and business support to Management with regards to commercial and operational review of revenue, forecasted profits, expenses to actuals, facilitates reforecasting activities and budgets.
- Delivers and presents accurate and timely Financial and Management reports with business value adding insights.
- Responsible for the effective application of controls and governance with acceptable risk levels.
- Proactively completes the financial audits for both External and Group Internal Audit and Risk mandates to meet the reporting requirements.
- Efficiently implement and review the governance framework for Finance functions.
- Proactively support the Group CFO to drive regular and engaging staff updates to provide awareness on overall business (financial) performance, opportunities and key areas for improvements.
- Actively develop the Finance policies and procedures to adequately meet current and future business needs.
To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
- At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in financial reporting, commercial and operational review of revenue, forecasted profits, expenses to actuals, facilitates reforecasting activities and budgets of an entity with similar responsibilities.
- Ability to compile thorough business reports and deliver concise summaries of financial reports.
- Practical skills in prioritizing, planning, engaging and deprioritizing business targets based on value and expectations, capable of delivering under pressure.
- Integrity in business dealings and assertive in ensuring ethical business practice including advisory to multiple stakeholders and entities.
- Having experience in investment and finance is an added advantage.
- Effective communication skills to engage internal & external stakeholders with critical thinking processes and ability to simplify financial information into layman terms.
- Tertiary qualification of a Degree in Accounting, Finance and or Investment and well versed with IFRS Accounting standards.
- Understands Business Model Reviews and conversant in suggesting multiple avenues to enhance efficiency and performance of business initiatives.
