We are now looking for a result driven and highly motivated individual to join PCL as our Electrical Engineer. This position reports to the Manager Engineering and will be predominantly based in Lami, Suva.

The role is primarily responsible for to designing and implement complex industrial, and commercial electrical systems repairing of machines and electrical components. Including verifies the availability of electrical drives, parts, materials, maintenance, and repair planning

SOME OF THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

• Conduct tests to ensure systems meet specifications and regulations, and troubleshoot problems to maintain optimal performance
• Schedule and undertake periodic maintenance on all electrical equipment, components, and installations.
• Designing, maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment products, or systems for industrial purposes
• Ensuring installation and operations conform to standards and business requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications and technical drawings.
• Inspect, test electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.
• Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices.
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
• Ensure all critical electrical parts are always available on time.
• Supervising and coordinating electrical workers and subcontractors onsite
• Keep record of all stock and supplies, including company’s electrical equipment
• Perform energy audit and recommend alternative sources of energy.
• Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and provide preventive maintenance services.
• Provide a safe working environment and ensure electricity induced accidents and mishaps are prevented.
• Supervise electrical works when new projects are undertaken.

TO BE CONSIDERED, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

• A licensed professional engineer and have extensive experience as an electrical engineer.
• Have advanced knowledge of electrical equipment and applicable codes related to electronic engineering.
• Proficient in design and calculation software.
• Ability to read system schematics and analytical and report writing.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in using or a desire to learn the required software.
• Understanding of safety and equipment procedures.
• Strong computer skills and ability to compile reports.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Trade Certificate in electrical trade from a highly recognized institution
• 5-10 years of working experience in a similar role in a manufacturing industry.
