ENGINEERING MANAGER

We are seeking a highly motivated experienced Leader to join Pacific Cement Limited as our Manager Engineering. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will be predominantly based on Lami Suva.

The role is primarily responsible in planning, controlling, and coordinating engineering operations related to maintenance and engineering projects of buildings, machinery, equipment, and other physical asset of our operating plant and enforcing safety regulations and ensure that factory operations run smoothly.

SOME OF THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Lead and facilitates the development and successful execution of Factory Transformation, Supply Chain Review, Talent Agenda and Improving the Growth Agenda for PCL.
  • Lead and provides technical support, guidance, direction and leadership in the design and implementation of mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Responsible for the timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Lead and provides cost and manpower estimates for design, installation and start-up of mechanical systems and ensure that all deliverables and timing needs are met.
  • Manage day to day operations and maintenance of the Cement Mill
  • Lead, develop and implement work process improvement within the cement factory
  • Oversee and lead the implementation and achievement of PCL’S current and future strategic direction, delivery of strategic and operational key performance results, and outcomes in the organization.
  • Assist the technical feasibility for the development of a new cement mill and optimize production with current plant.
  • Responsible for the review and development of Strategic and Business Operational Plans to deliver both Transformation and Growth priorities.
  • Strengthen and drives improvement in governance, risk, and compliance management.
  • Champions the development and execution of environmentally sustainable and socially responsible initiatives that deliver on PCL’s values and FHL Group’s core purpose.

TO BE CONSIDERED, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

  • More than 10 years of successful experience in a similar role from a manufacturing and construction industry.
  • Excellent executive leadership record in building and motivating teams that deliver results with a respectable reputation that demonstrate the values that are important to PCL and the FHL Group.
  • A strong background in rotating equipment with good troubleshooting skills and knowledge of Root Cause Failure Analysis methods is required.
  • Also experience in Vibration analysis, software, data collection, balancing and alignment along with good knowledge base in fixed equipment
  • Must have experience in inspection techniques, codes and knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems is important.
  • Have experience in maintenance turnaround and project management.
  • Must have both strategic, operational and technical experience in leading transforming/upgrading large scale manufacturing plants.
  • Excellent transformation and change leadership in delivering both people and business targeted outcomes within targeted timeframes.
  • Proven project management success with benefits that improve both competitive edge and business performance.
  • An excellent understanding of the manufacturing and construction dynamics of local and export markets.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Plant Engineering
