We are seeking a commercially astute and highly motivated individual to join FHL as our Finance Manager. This position reports to the Group Chief Financial Officer and will be predominantly based in Suva.
The role is primarily accountable for consolidating the financial results of the FHL Group in its entirety and for delivering accurate, timely and relevant statutory reports and management information to ensure that management complies with statutory obligations and achieves strategic business objectives.
SOME OF THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE WILL INCLUDE:
- Each month, consolidate the financial results of the FHL Group and deliver accurate and timely Group financial statements and reports, on the performance of the subsidiaries.
- Manage the half-year cross review of the financials of the subsidiaries and associates to identify discrepancies and ensure alignment with the Group’s financial objectives.
- Manage the year-end process for Group consolidation including conducting year-end equity valuations using a range of equity valuation models and preparing the Group consolidated financial statements for the annual external audit.
- Supervise the successful completion of FHL’s external audit & monitor the progress and completion of the external audits for the Group’s entities.
- For the Group, prepare the annual consolidated Budget; periodic consolidated forecasts; and maintain multi-year cashflow projections.
- Ensure that FHL meets the financial reporting requirements of the South Pacific Stock Exchange (“SPX”) as well as the annual corporate tax
lodgements with Fiji Revenue & Customs Service. - Develop financial models to assist with the financial evaluation of the new and existing investments.
- Engages in and contributes to the strategic planning process for FHL and the Group.
- Support the review and enhancement of accounting & finance policies and procedures.
- Builds and nurtures effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Actively oversees the performance and fosters the professional development of the Finance team.
TO BE CONSIDERED, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce, business or a related field along with a professional accounting qualification such as CPA or CA.
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in the preparation and presentation of consolidated financial statements for a corporate group.
- Possess experience across various finance disciplines such as corporate finance, regulatory reporting, taxation and treasury with a comprehensive understanding of IFRS and other pertinent accounting standards.
- Possess strong technological proficiency and have good practical experience with financial management software.
- Have a good working knowledge of the Fiji laws and the regulations that impact businesses, with knowledge of SPX rules being a distinct advantage.
- Possess sharp analytical skills; the readiness to adapt to new situations as needed; and flexibility in problem solving approaches.
- Possess strong written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to break down complex financial information in simple and understandable language.
