The South Sea Cruises Group (SSCG) is Fiji’s largest and leading marine tourism operator, and we are currently seeking an inspiring and capable leader to fill the senior management position being : General Manager – People & Culture.

The successful applicant will be a people and culture champion that will lead the development and implementation of targeted people and culture initiatives for the South Sea Cruises Group. This role will also be responsible for the delivery of strategies that will ensure that South Sea Cruises Group continues to be a socially responsible employer and sustainable tourism operator.

The General Manager – People and Culture will be based at Port Denarau, Nadi, with limited travel to SSCG owned and operated products and services within the Mamanuca & Yasawa Islands.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role will include:

• Lead and facilitate the development of targeted performance and learning programs to enable the targeted execution of approved business strategies and plans.
• Drive and support the Leadership Team to deliver a workplace culture that resonates with the organizational values of both the South Sea Cruises Group and Fijian Holdings Limited.
• Lead and develop South Sea Cruises Group’s Human Resources Team to manage and motivate an engaged and results-driven workforce.
• Continuously review, monitor the effectiveness, and develop new management development programs with the Leadership Team to deliver superior services that complement current and future South Seas Cruises Group products and services.
• Oversee and review employment related costs and budgetary reviews.
• Manages the development and proper implementation of Reward and Compensation plans.
• Sustainably lead the implementation of the Corporate and Social Responsibility that is delivered through the Vinaka Fiji brand.
• Oversees the management of industrial relations related agreements.
• Responsible for the accurate and value adding reporting to the SSCG Board and relevant subcommittees on matters relating to Human Resources Strategies and CSR.
• Ensure good governance and compliance to both regulations and Company policy.
• Innovate and lead the implementation of change initiatives to further accelerate the achievement of business and people strategies.
• Actively contribute to the Fijian Holdings Limited Group Human Resources Management meetings and ensure effective and efficient implementation of FHL Group HR Strategies and mandates.
• Direct and manage the review, development and implementation of Human Capital information systems to improve employee productivity levels, planning, delivery, performance and capability.
• Lead and facilitate the overall management of performance, development, and retention processes in the Company with key outcomes of accountable leaders, results driven employees, identified areas for change and a high-performance culture.

TO BE CONSIDERED, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven record in a similar position and/or be able to demonstrate a strong desire to develop the necessary skills to progress your career with the South Sea Cruises Group.
• Delivered successful Human Resources strategic and operational results in leading an organization with over 300+ employees across multiple locations.
• Excellent leadership and commercial acumen to advise and spearhead key people changes that deliver positive commercial results.
• Experienced in management reporting and presenting key papers to support business decisions.
• Exposed and experienced in developing and implementing corporate social responsibility initiatives that resonate with the Company’s business values.
• Has a positive reputation of being a people and culture champion with good network within and outside the tourism and corporate network.
• Skilled in planning, reviewing, forecasting, and reforecasting total employment costs with sound assumptions that supports current and future business models.
• Have an outstanding record in building internal and external relationships.
• Relevant qualifications in human resources, people management and/or training would be advantageous.
