GROUP MANAGER PROJECT

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially astute professional to join FHL as our Group Manager Projects. This role reports directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of key Projects for FHL and across the FHL Group. This includes ensuring projects are aligned with the FHL Group Strategy, delivered on time and within budget, and meet the highest standards of governance and compliance. The role demands a results-driven with a strong project leadership background, advanced project reporting capabilities , very sound commercial acumen and excellent stakeholder management skills.

SOME OF THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Lead the end-to-end of Project Planning, Coordination, and Execution of land subdivision and commercial development projects, ensuring alignment with FHL’s strategic investment goals.
  • Conduct technical and financial feasibility assessments for new projects, including land use analysis, environmental impact, and return on investment projections.
  • Oversee civil engineering aspects of projects, including roads, drainage, utilities, and site preparation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and engineering best practices.
  • Liaise with government agencies, local authorities, landowners, and community stakeholders to secure approvals, manage expectations, and foster positive relationships.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost -control measures to ensure financial discipline across al l project phases.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring all developments adhere to legal, environmental, and safety regulations.
  • Provide regular progress reports to the Group CEO and Board, including project milestones, financial updates, and risk assessments.
  • Integrate sustainable development principles and social impact considerations into project planning and execution, in line with FHL’s impact investment mandate.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary project team, fostering a high -performance culture and building internal capabilities in project and construction management

TO BE CONSIDERED, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 8–10 years of progressive experience in managing large-scale land development, commercial construction, or civil infrastructure projects, preferably within a corporate or investment environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is essential. A postgraduate qualification in Project Management, Engineering, or Business Administration will be an added advantage.
  • Proven track record in leading complex, multi-stakeholder development and construction projects from concept t o completion, with strong knowledge of designs, master planning, project lifecycle management, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated applications of civil engineering principles, land use planning , infrastructure design, and construction methodologies. Familiarity with local building codes, environmental regulations, and permitting processes is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross -function al teams, man age consultants and contractors, and engage effectively with senior executives, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Experience in preparing and managing project budgets, conducting cost -benefit analyses, and aligning project outcomes with financial and strategic objectives.
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance requirements, risk assessment frameworks, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards in the construction and development sector.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or simi lar), AutoCAD or civ il design tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with a recognized engineering or project management body (e.g., Fiji Institute of Engineers, IPENZ, PMI) is highly desirable.
