We are seeking talented, dynamic, and motivated individuals with relevant credentials to join PCL as our Technical Lab Analysts. This position reports to Assistant Manager Technical and will be predominantly based in Lami, Suva. This role is expected to have excellent understanding on testing methods and calibration along with relevant IANZ standards.
SOME OF THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE WILL INCLUDE:
- Carry out all chemical and physical testing as required by the standards in the Laboratory.
- Calibrate and maintain all laboratory equipment as per the standards in the Laboratory
- Update laboratory database, generate and forward reports to internal customers.
- Assist in the development of technical methodologies and work plans for the laboratory.
- Provide assistance to the Technical Manager across all areas of the Laboratory functions as when required.
- Raise, investigate non-conformances in product and laboratory and record all non-conformances
- Ensure all raw materials are tested promptly and reports are provided to relevant managers on a timely manner.
- Conduct day-to-day operations of the laboratory and ensure good laboratory practices are implemented, documented, and sustained.
- Facilitate internal audit processes, external assessments, proficiency testing programs; document control systems; competency assessment; training and other quality processes in the Laboratory.
- providing technical advice on evidence-based methods and strategies, current practice, and established laboratory and operational standards to ensure quality and rigorous design.
TO BE CONSIDERED, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science (Chemistry)/Diploma in Industrial Technology
- Minimum of at least 3-5 years’ experience of working in a lab.
- Deep knowledge in analytical skills and laboratory testing skills
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- They must be able to analyse data, identify problems, and develop solutions
- Proficient in laboratory techniques, such as pipetting, sterilization, and instrument calibration.
