Mereoni Matavou

Ms Mereoni Matavou first joined the FHL Group in 2014 as Compliance Officer at Fiji Television Limited. During her time at FijiTV, she progressed to the position of Legal Officer and Company Secretary, with responsibility for legal, compliance, human resources, and company secretarial matters.

In 2016, she joined Fijian Holdings Limited as Manager Legal and Company Secretary. She was appointed Acting General Manager of FHL Fund Management Limited in April 2018 and was confirmed in the position in May 2019. In October 2020, she returned to the Holding Company as Group Manager Legal and Company Secretary.

Ms Matavou brings more than 19 years of legal experience, including extensive experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance, governance, Board advisory services, human resources, and company secretarial practice. Her work across Fiji Television Limited, FHL Fund Management Limited, and Fijian Holdings Limited has provided her with a strong understanding of the FHL Group's operations and governance requirements.

She supports the Board, its committees, and executive management by providing legal advice, coordinating governance processes, managing statutory and regulatory obligations, and maintaining sound company secretarial practices across the Group.

Ms Matavou holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the South Pacific, a Professional Diploma in Legislative Drafting, and a Professional Diploma in Legal Studies. She was admitted to the Fiji Bar in 2006 and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She brings strong legal judgement, institutional knowledge, and governance experience to her role.
